Officials identified the man killed Saturday after a shooting at a West Austin apartment complex as 45-year-old Jarod Mason. The shooting happened at the Westlake Apartments, located at 3500 North Capital of Texas Highway, about a mile south of the Pennybacker Bridge.
According to the Austin Police Department, police went to the address at about 6:40 in the morning in response to a shooting call. When they arrived, they discovered Mason, who appeared to have been shot, lying next to a car behind building #20.
