Multiple law enforcement officers responded to report of a murder-suicide involving a father and son on Thursday night. The tragic incident happened at the 500 block of Heritage Oak Drive in Lower Makefield Township.
According to report, the deceased were identified as an 8-year-old boy and his 47-year-old father. Lower Makefield Township Police Chief Kenneth Coluzzi said the situation began with a wellness check.
When the police arrived at the house, they discovered a child asleep on the floor. Officers forced the door open and discovered the father and son both suffering from head wounds from gunshots.
At the time of the shooting, no one else was at home. According to police, the mother of the family was informed of the circumstances.
