Houston Police Department are investigating after a pregnant woman was killed, and several others were injured following shooting at a birthday party near Houston’s Sunnyside. The shooting occurred in Margaret Jenkins Park at about 1:15 a.m. on Saturday. The family identified the victim as 21-year-old Autumn Vallian.
More than 30 rounds were fired, according to investigators. According to report, an argument escalated to shot being fired, although it’s not clear what the argument was about. Assistant Chief E. Garcia stated that “a total of 36 shots came in from (HPD’s ShotSpotter) technology.”
According to the authorities, two of the suspects were among the three who were transported to the hospital. A fifth individual was shot in the side but did not go to the hospital.
Searches are being made to identify any further suspects that might exist.
