Deputy David Bosecker has sadly passed away. David died from gunshot wounds. At approximately 9:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2023, Deputies with the Eastland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic fight in progress at a residence on Hwy 183 between Cisco and Rising Star.
As soon as deputy David Bosecker got on the scene, the suspect started firing at him. Deputy Bosecker was hit and died as a result. Other incoming units apprehended the suspect, and no one else was hurt. The suspect was arrested and booked into Stephens County Jail on Capitol Murder charges. The Texas Rangers are conducting an active investigation.
Deputy Bosecker was a master peace officer with over 21 years of experience in law enforcement. He began his law enforcement career as a deputy in Wise County before moving on to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. He would subsequently work for Texas Parks and Wildlife as a Game Warden. And a member of the Comanche Police Department. In 2021, he was hired as a deputy by Eastland County, and he also worked part-time with Cisco PD as a marine enforcement officer.
