Police are investigating after an individual committed suicide at Simi Valley. The incident happened in the 2800 block of Sycamore Drive. At 0714 hours, the Simi Valley Police Department were dispatched to the scene near the businesses in the 2800 block of Cochran Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a subject deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities urge the public to avoid the area at this time. Detectives are now on-scene awaiting the Coroner’s office for further investigation.
There is currently no indication that there are any additional victims or injured people, and there is no danger to the public. For the upcoming few hours, Authorities urge everyone to stay away from the Cochran Street corridor between Sycamore Drive and Galena Avenue. SVPD will alert the public via Nixle if any information changes.
