Authorities have identified the man who died following a crash in Washington County Thursday night, July 20 as Michael Paulson. Michael died and another person involved in the accident was taken to the hospital by Flight for Life
The tragic accident happened around 11 p.m. on County Trunk K at Interstate 41 in the Town of Hartford. When the first deputy arrived, it was discovered that the driver of a westbound vehicle had died. The operator was identified as a 21-year-old Hartford resident.This car collided with a vehicle driven by a 64-year-old Fond du Lac County lady. She was transferred to a hospital for treatment by Flight for Life after fire crews completed the extrication.
According to preliminary investigations, the vehicle driven by the Fond du Lac County woman was turning onto the northbound on ramp to Interstate 41 when it was hit by the vehicle driven by the Town of Hartford man. Speed appears to be a major consideration.
The route was shut down for around six hours. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash.
