The body of a 17-year-old girl pulled from the water during a search-and-rescue mission after a boat collided with a jetty off the coast of Cape Cod late Friday has been identified. Sadie Mauro, a Dover-Sherborn High School lacrosse player, was identified. The incident occurred around 9 p.m., and there were six passengers on the boat, including Mauro, who died as a result of his injuries.
The body of Sadie Mauro was recovered from the water by the US Coast Guard at 11:30 p.m. According to Massachusetts State Police, the crash occurred off Cold Storage Beach in Dennis.
The crash site was determined to be the jetty beside the canal leading to the Northside Marina in Sesuit Harbor.
The crash injured a teenage kid, who was sent to Cape Cod Hospital. The US Coast Guard, the Dennis Fire Department, the Sandwich Fire Department, and the Barnstable County Dive Team are all responding, according to police.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated by authorities.
