Police in Philadelphia have identified the SEPTA passenger who died after two buses collided in the city’s Rhawnhurst neighborhood on Friday, injuring over a dozen passengers. Officers identified the victim as Siu Nam Mak, 72, of the 1200 block of Kerper Street.
Around 12:10 p.m., the incident occurred in the southbound outer lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard near Shelmire Avenue. According to police, one of the SEPTA bus drivers rear-ended another while both vehicles were occupied.
Nam Mak was taken to Nazareth Hospital after the crash and later pronounced dead. At least 19 people were injured in the crash, including a bus driver, 38, who is in severe condition.
There was no immediate word on the other victims’ conditions.
