Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man shot and killed near Progressive Field early Monday morning as 24-year-old Anthony Blackwell. The shooting happened at East 9th Street at Bolivar Road.
Police officers were dispatched to the scene after they received report of the incident. Officers found a car with bullet fired into it around 1 a.m. The driver of the vehicle was found unresponsive.
We’re told a car was found with bullets fired into it around 1 a.m., along with a driver who was pronounced dead at the scene. Anthony was pronounced dead at the scene. The motive for the shooting is unknown. The tragic incident remains under investigation.
