Chris Barnes has unexpectedly passed away. The news of Chris Barnes death was shared through a Facebook post of Larne Community Fridge ”We are all deeply saddened to learn the news of the passing of our dear friend and fellow Volunteer, Chris Barnes.

Chris was a very kind soul, who volunteered widely in various projects across Larne and joined our project earlier this year. Chris was always full of wit and banter, an absolute wealth of knowledge on all things great and small, extremely generous and very passionate about any project he was involved in.

Chris helped planting our Town Park orchard, assisted at the Community Fridge and Garden, from building shelves, assisting with sheds and tree planting, and was very interested in keeping Larne clean and tidy. He would chat to everyone, share knowledge and share a laugh and good conversation.
Chris, you were one of us and you will be deeply missed. We will never forget you or your hard work and dedication for us and for others.

As a mark of respect and to allow our volunteers the opportunity to remember our friend, we will be closed this incoming week. We will be hosting a small memorial planting ceremony at the Town Park orchard this week. Further details will be released in due course.
