Authorities have identified the person killed following a shooting on Sunday evening. The victim was identified as 65-year-old Edward Demoussett from Freeman. The shooting occurred on Sunday July 23 at Lakeview Drive in rural Freeman, Missouri.
Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a man lying in the roadway, and another man trying to save his life.
Edward was pronounced dead at the scene after all effort to revive him failed.
A person of interest was taken into custody at the Sheriff’s Office.
