Authorities identified the man shot and killed in his home in Wood River. He was identified as 23-year-old Jacob Wall. According to police, Wall lived in the house where he was shot. The shooting occurred at a home in the 800 block of Tennyson Avenue. The Wood River Police Department were dispatched to the scene in response to the shooting.
Jacob was taken to St. Louis hospital where he was pronounced dead early Monday morning. Several people who were guests at the home at the time of the shooting were interviewed by Wood River police. Following the shooting, authorities detained a person of interest after conducting interviews. According to them, the shooting was not a random act of violence.
The tragic shooting is still being investigated.
There have been no charges filed in connection with the incident.
