Authorities identified the man shot and killed Monday night in Harrisburg as as Richon Strain-Hankerson, 26, of Harrisburg. The incident occurred South 20th and Zarker streets around 10 p.m.
Harrisburg Police were dispatched to the area after they received report of short fired.
“At about the same time officers were advised that a gunshot victim had been transported to the 2400 block of Market Street and were there with first responders from an outside jurisdiction. The Harrisburg Police made contact with an adult male gunshot victim in the 2400 block of Market Street, and the victim was pronounced deceased,” Harrisburg police said in a statement.
The motive for the shooting is unclear. Police said an investigation is ongoing.
