Authorities identified the victim killed following shooting at Brooks Lane shooting. Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks identified the 22-year-old Jatyrain Aquamini “Tank” Tolbert of Atmore. The shooting occurred Tuesday July 25, 2023 near the eastern end of Brooks Lane.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene after they received report of the shooting. When the police arrived, they discovered that Tolbert, the sole driver of the accident’s vehicle, had been shot. He was transported to Atmore Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. By 2:30 p.m. today, no arrests had been made, but Brooks said APD investigators are “currently working the case.”
