In a suspected murder-suicide in Perth, a mother was discovered shot dead inside her home, and the body of her ex-partner was discovered in another burnt-out flat. The incident happened on Thursday inside her home on Sabina Road in South Guildford. Police were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of concerns for her wellbeing.
Georgia Lyall, 32 was found dead inside her home. Emergency services were then alerted to a unit fire on Escot Road in Innaloo, 22 kilometers away, where they discovered a man’s death they thought to be her ex-partner Luke Noormets.
Noormets was allegedly discovered after the fire had started with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police are looking into the past of Noormets, who they believe to be a former Rebels nominee and who served time in prison for kidnapping and torturing a drug dealer over an unpaid debt.Police were able to immediately connect the address in South Guildford with the address in Innaloo, according to Detective Inspector David Gorton.
“So far, the investigations have revealed that there may have been some phone connections between the two,” Gorton added. Detectives are looking into both locations as they try to piece together what happened before the event.
