Caddo Parish Coroner’s office identified the woman killed after shooting in Shreveport’s South Highlands neighborhood Sunday, July 30, 2023. She was identified as 29-year-old Mary Parsons. The tragic incident happened at 6:26 p.m. Sunday, July 30 in a home in the 900 block of Delaware Street just before 6:30 p.m.
Multiple police units were dispatched to the scene between Fairfield and Thornhill avenues. The fire department also sent at least three units to a medical emergency at the same location.
The report identifies the dead as the male suspect and the female victim. “The suspect shot the victim and then turned the gun on himself,” it reads.
