Authorities have identified the man who was killed Saturday in a southwest Iowa crash as Young Seok Moon, 27, of Creston. Just before 10 o’clock in the evening, an Iowa State Patrol crash report states that a 2001 Ford Mustang was moving southbound at a high speed on North Sumner Avenue in Creston when the driver lost control close to the intersection of Sumner and West Howard Street.
The vehicle hit a parked automobile “before vaulting and striking the front of two houses,” according to the report. Young Seok Moon, who was a passenger was transported to Union County Hospital where experts declared him dead. According to the report, the driver, Myung Jo Kang, 26, of Creston, suffered life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Des Moines.
The crash remains under investigation.
