Albemarle County Police Department has identified the victim of the fatal vehicle crash that occurred on Route 53 this morning as Mark Alan Chamberlain, 59, of Albemarle County. On Tuesday, August 8, ACPD reported that about 8:45 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to a two-vehicle incident on Rt. 53 between Route 20 and Milton Road due to a a fallen tree.
One person received non-life-threatening medical attention. Another person was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
