Miles Murray of Henniker, NH has sadly passed away. Miles died following an accident in Belchertown on Sunday.
A state trooper attempted to stop a 2011 Nissan Altima at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, but the driver sped away, according to Massachusetts State Police. After fleeing police, the Altima collided with a mulch patch, sending the car airborne and over the rock wall of 79 North Main Street, smashing trees and light poles.
After landing, the automobile collided with the front end of a parked Jeep Wrangler, sending the Nissan’s engine block soaring into the air and punching a four-foot-wide hole in the second floor of 73 North Main Street. More collision debris ripped another hole in the first story.
State Police reported that the 19-year- old driver was also ejected from his vehicle and was pronounced dead on scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police and the Belchertown Police.
