Officials identified the 44-year-old woman who died after being struck by a driver and pinned between a house and a car as Carolee Dwer. On Sunday, a Ford Explorer that may have been speeding left the road and struck a woman who was crossing it in the 13800 block of West Cypress Forest Drive near Grant Road and Jones Road.
Dwer, was then pinned when the automobile smashed into a house. She was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the authorities, the Ford driver was detained and charged with felon in possession of a firearm and failing to stop and offer aid (death).
The crash remains under investigation.
