Authorities identified the woman who died following a fatal shooting on Friday in Miami-Dade County’s Palmetto Estates neighborhood as Maria Cruz De La Cruz. Responding officers recovered a firearm after a woman and a man were wounded and a man died of “an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.”
At at 4:20 p.m., police officers and firefighters went to a house close to the intersection of Southwest 165 Terrace and 99th Avenue.
The two injured were transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson South Medical Center by fire rescue personnel. Their condition, according to Rodriguez, was critical.
Maria was later pronounced dead as a result of the shooting.
