20-year-old David Gudiel, of Springfield has sadly passed away. David, A Virginia Tech student died after being involved in an accident near campus Saturday morning. Gudiel was a junior studying robotics and mechatronics. The crash happened on Research Center Drive near Pratt Drive around 3:40 a.m.
Virginia Tech Police and Blacksburg Police were dispatched to the scene of the single-car crash after they were notified. The university says Gudiel was alone at the time of the crash.
