Jessica Crockett, Eskenazi ER Nurse has sadly passed away. Jessica died after being murdered by her estranged ex-husband December 18,2023. Officers responded to a burglary report in the 5800 block of Grevillea Lane around 3:30 a.m. They discovered a damaged basement window, followed by the bodies of two adults inside the house. Detectives were dispatched to conduct an investigation.
According to report, Jessica had formally and repeatedly reported to police enforcement the details of his harassment and threats to kill her. She was the subject of an active protective order. He was charged with breaking a protective order, invasion of privacy, stalking, and intimidation.
Other family members were inside the home at the time, but were unharmed, according to Plainfield police. Investigation into the tragic incident is currently ongoing.
Jessica was described by loved ones as an empowered and resilient woman, a devoted and passionate mother, and a brilliant nurse.
