Plainedge High School student, Dylan Nuccio has sadly passed away. Dylan Nuccio died after being involved in a motor vehicle accident Tuesday. The superintendent of the Plainedge Union Free School District released a statement regarding his passing.
“It is with deep sadness that we inform you about a tragic loss to our school community today. Earlier this morning, High School Senior, Dylan Nuccio, was involved in a motor vehicle accident where he lost his life. This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school community, especially our staff and students.
Plainedge High School has already mobilized our Crisis Intervention Team made up of mental health support professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents, and school personnel at difficult times such as this. We have counselors available for any student or staff member who may need support or any type of assistance surrounding this loss.
We encourage you, as parents, to also feel free to use our resources.
Please contact the High School Guidance Department with any requests for support you may require. High School students are not permitted to leave for lunch until further notice.
We are deeply saddened by this loss to our school community and will make every effort to support our staff, students, and families. The health and safety of our children and staff is always our top priority. As more information becomes available, we will provide the Plainedge Community with updates.
