Kole Hebert, 18, was identified as the victim who was critically injured following a shooting incident on January 6 in Louisiana. According to a Gofundme created to ease the family of financial stress,
“The motive and His injuries are life threatening. Kole’s cervical spinal cord was severed resulting in paralysis from the neck down which means he cannot breathe on his own without the use of a ventilator. He also sustained a skull fracture and serious injury to his esophagus.
Kole was transported to Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge where he will have surgery to repair the gunshot wound to his neck, placement of a voice box, hardware to support his cervical spine, repair of the skull fracture as well as a tracheotomy for him to continue to have full assistance with his breathing. The bullet fragments are unable to be retrieved. These injuries are what his medical team are sure of at this time.
