Authorities are investigating following an active shooter situation in Angleton. The incident occurred Monday FEB 12 in the 900 block of South Velasco in Angleton. Multiple law enforcement officers responded to the scene for a shooting report.
Authorities urge the public to avoid the area at this time. Suspect is believed to be barricaded in a house on Annette St in Angleton. Suspect fled the scene, possibly in a silver Chevy PU. In an update about 15 minutes later, authorities said there was no longer an active shooter.
Several schools in the area are on precautionary lockdown. Detectives are actively investigating.
