Paul Giordano, father of Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Mark Giordano has sadly passed away. The Toronto Maple Leafs announced his sudden passing online – “The Toronto Maple Leafs are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Paul Giordano, father of defenceman Mark Giordano, on Thursday night. Our prayers are with Mark and his family during this incredibly difficult time and we ask for their privacy.”
Paul is survived by his wife Anna, Mark and daughter Michelle.
Mark Giordano was born in Toronto, he was traded to the Maple Leafs in 2022 from the Seattle Kraken and has played for his hometown team since.
Giordano played for the Calgary Flames for the first 15 years of his professional career, serving as captain for eight years before joining Seattle in the expansion draft.
