Denise Gagne, a musicspecialist has sadly passed away. Denise diedOn February 23rd after battling a serious health condition. Denise died surrounded by her beloved husband Ken, and children Allyson, Stacy and Bryan and her extended family.
Denise Gagné is a music specialist with 35 years of experience teaching band, choir and classroom. music from pre-school to Grade 12. She has degrees in music and education, as well as Level 3. training in both Kodály and Orff.
The news of her demise was shared on Musicplay official Facebook page – “It is with very heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Denise Gagne. She was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. She fought her battle with unwavering courage and strength until the end. On February 23rd, Denise Gagne passed away in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada surrounded by her family.
Denise used to laugh, saying the four scariest words from her were “I have an idea.” Yet, those ideas brought to life the Musicplay curriculum, aimed at supporting teachers globally. Her dedication to evolving Musciplay, taking it online as MusicplayOnline, and the various workshops she led will be her lasting impact in elementary education.
