There is a heavy police presence in D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood following a shooting incident . The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m. in the 400 block of M Street SE.
Several streets are closed which could impact morning commuters. Authorities responded to the area for shooting report. The investigation has closed several streets in the area, and eastbound traffic on M Street was blocked. Westbound was moving with police direction as of 6:30 a.m.
Metro bus routes along eastbound M Street are also impacted.
