Carencro High School student Jaylon Joiner, 18, was shot and killed by a group of people while exiting the school bus Friday afternoon. The shooting occurred in the 200 block of Bradford Drive, just a few blocks from Carencro Middle School.
Officers responded to the scene after a report of the shooting just after 3 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found Joiner suffering from a gunshot wound. Joiner was transported to a local medical facility, where he died.
The suspect ran on foot. One has been captured by the police. Investigation is active and ongoing.
