Joanne Perry has tragically passed away. Joanne died on Friday evening after she was stabbed to death by her daughter, who reportedly tried to set her on fire. Joanne was stabbed multiple times in the neck and chest, according to report.
Officers were called to Kett St in Lower Plenty about 6.30pm on Friday following reports a 26-year-old woman was trying to set her mother on fire.
When authorities arrived, they reported being challenged by the younger woman, who was armed with a knife. Despite being urged to drop the weapon, the 26-year-old continued to drive the knife into her mother’s torso and neck.
She was shot by a police officer and died on the scene.
