Law enforcement officials and emergency crews are responding to report of shooting that happened at Punxsutawney Walmart. The incident occurred Monday March 11 , 2024 at Punxsutawney Walmart located 21920 US-119, Punxsutawney, PA.
The public is asked to avoid the area as the scene remains active. Jefferson County coroner Brenda Schumaker says one person is dead following the shooting at the Walmart in Punxsutawney.
Investigators are working to determine exactly what happened. The Punxsutawney Area School District also posted online that the school was in a temporary “perimeter hold,” meaning no one was allowed to leave or enter the building.
No arrests have been made at this time, and police continue to search for suspects in relation to this incident. Dispatch officials say more details are expected to be released later today. We will keep you update on-air and online with the latest information.
