Authorities are investigating after a rider was shot in the head on a subway train during rush hour on Thursday. The shooting happened on a northbound train in Brooklyn shortly after 4.45 pm, when an altercation between two strangers resulted into a fight.
According to news release, A 32-year-old man boarded the train at the Nostrand Avenue stop and was approached by a 36-year-old man who appeared to be ‘aggressive and provocative.
The 36-year-old brandished a sharp instrument, ultimately a knife or razor blade, as the train began to move, according to Michael Kemper, Chief of Transit for the Police Department, who made the announcement at a press conference.
At one point, when the argument turned physical, he took a gun with him from his jacket and approached the 32-year-old.
