Authorities are investigating after Poughkeepsie High school student was shot Tuesday afternoon after Poughkeepsie High School was dismissed at 2:40 pm. The shooting occurred Tuesday afternoon April 30, 2024 on Church Street just east of South White Street. According to report, student had returned to the area of the high school to report the incident to the police who were in the school parking lot, monitoring the dismissal.
Police responded to the area, found the victim on the sidewalk. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
