Authorities are investigating after a teenager identified as 17-year-old Jesus Mendoza died and another person injured in Kansas shooting. The shooting occurred at to the area of East Truman Road and Hardesty Avenue. Law enforcement officers were called to the scene for a shooting report.
Responding officers found an unresponsive teen with gunshot wound in a nearby business parking lot. Emergency medical services arrived and declared the boy dead at the scene. The other victim was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening
Detectives are working to identify a person of interest in the case, Gonzalez said.
