84-year-old Beverly Vitale and 60-year-old Scott Vitale were identified as the victim and suspect who died following an apparent murder-suicide. The tragic incident happened Thursday night on County Road 50 in Grove Oak.
DeKalb County Deputies responded to the residence for a welfare check. Officials arrived at the scene and found two people deceased with apparent gunshot wounds.
Scott allegedly took the life of the female and then turned the gun on himself. The DeKalb County Coroner stated that the two dead were a mother and son.
This investigation is ongoing and the reason for the murder suicide is unknown. Additional information will be made available as this investigation develops.
