Authorities are investigating after one man died and another injured following a stabbing incident downtown Vancouver. The incident occurred near Cathedral Square, at Richards Street and Dunsmuir.
Law enforcement officials and Emergency crews responded to the scene for a stabbing report. Officers discovered a man in his fifties who had been attacked with a knife, was bleeding from the head, and had a severed hand.
According to report, officers were also dispatched to West Georgia and Hamilton Street after another man was assaulted. Despite attempts to save his life, the man died on the scene.
According to report, the two incident were linked. The suspect, a 34-year-old White Rock resident, was taken into custody and is currently at the Vancouver Jail.
