Heather Backer, physical education teacher at Gum Springs Elementary School has sadly passed away. Heather died after valiant battle with cancer. Gum Springs Elementary School district announced her passing in a post on Facebook.
The post reads – “It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved staff member Ms. Heather Backer, who fought courageously in her battle with cancer. In her honor, we encourage students and staff to wear pink tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 6.”
