Tyler Koscinski, 20 and Mason Santiago of New Lenox, Ill died in accident on I-80 West early Sunday in Tinley Park. The crash happened on I-80 westbound between La Grange Road and Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park just before 4:30 a.m.
The deceased victims were pronounced dead after succumbing to injuries sustained in the crash. This investigation is actively ongoing. The investigation is ongoing. Our prayers and condolence are with the family of the deceased during this difficult time.
They were both alumni and varsity athletes from New Lenox. Santiago played as a linebacker/defensive back for the Celtics, leading them to the Class 4A title game in 2022; the team finished as runner-up.
