NYPD suicide – It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of NYPD Detective Kevin Winters, who died by suicide. Kevin, 40, devoted 13 years of his life to serving and protecting the people of New York City. He was a hero then, and will forever be remembered for the way he lived — with dedication, courage, and an unwavering commitment to his family, his community, and his fellow officers.
Kevin’s passing leaves an indescribable void, particularly for his beloved wife, Jenn, and their two young daughters, Harper and Peyton. Though he had a soft spot for his favorite things — Notre Dame football, Batman, and the New York Rangers — his family was always his top priority.
