Verdugo Hills High School shooting — The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is investigating a stabbing that occurred earlier today at Verdugo Hills High School, located at 10625 Plainview Avenue. The incident, which is being treated as an Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW), was reported and has prompted a heavy police response to the area.
According to LAPD officials, four male suspects, described as Black males, were involved in the incident and fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla. Authorities have requested the assistance of a LAPD Air Support Division helicopter, also known as AirSHip, to help locate the suspects and assist in the ongoing search efforts.
Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) crews are on-site at Verdugo Hills High School, where they are currently treating two victims who were injured in the stabbing. The conditions of the victims have not been disclosed, but they are being transported to local hospitals for further care.
At this time, the motive behind the stabbing is unclear, and LAPD’s detectives are actively working to gather more information from witnesses and school personnel. LAUSD School Police are also on the scene, assisting LAPD with crowd control and securing the area.
