Authorities responded to the scene around 12:45 AM, where they found Riley deceased in the parking lot. A second male, identified as the suspected shooter, was located nearby and surrendered peacefully to law enforcement.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department assured the public that there was no ongoing threat, emphasizing that the incident appeared to be isolated and the shooting may have been in self-defense. The suspected shooter and witnesses fully cooperated with law enforcement, and detectives are working with the Hancock County Prosecutor’s Office to investigate further.
