MURFREESBORO, TN — The Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) is actively searching for the person responsible for a shooting that left two victims in critical condition late Saturday night.
Around 11:10 p.m. on December 14, officers responded to reports of gunshots behind the Clarion Inn Hotel, located near the intersection of Old Fort Parkway and Medical Center Parkway. When officers arrived, they discovered a man and a woman in a vehicle that had crashed into a wall while attempting to flee from the scene. The victims were found in front of the hotel, close to the KFC restaurant.
Initial investigation indicates that the shooting occurred while the victims were inside the vehicle. The vehicle struck the wall as the victims tried to escape the gunfire. Officers immediately began administering first aid until emergency responders from the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene.
Both victims were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Their identities have not been released at this time.
MPD detectives are actively investigating the motive behind the shooting. No arrests have been made, and authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
This is a developing story. More details will be provided as they become available.
