Tony James Ferguson 41, of McIntosh County, Georgia has sadly passed away. Tony was fatally shot on Sunday, December 16, 2024 near Highway 99 and Swamp Road.
Tony was a beloved figure in his community, known for his warm heart, easy-going nature, and deep commitment to his family and friends. He had a knack for bringing people together, always the one to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. His infectious laugh and generous spirit touched the lives of many.
At approximately 1:48 a.m. on December 16, deputies responded to the scene of the shooting, where they found hundreds of people in the area, some still involved in altercations. Deputies located Tony, who had been shot, and immediately assisted emergency responders in performing life-saving measures. Despite their best efforts, Tony succumbed to his injuries while receiving care at the Southeast Georgia Medical Center in Brunswick.
Tony is survived by his loving family and many close friends, all of whom will forever miss him. His sudden and tragic passing has left a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
The family asks for privacy during this difficult time as they grieve the loss of a father, son, brother, and friend. Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced soon.
