18-year-old Jordyn Decedric Campbell has unexpectedly passed away. Jordyn died after shooting in west Charlotte on Sunday, December 29, 2024. Jordyn’s life was taken too soon in a senseless act of violence, leaving a heartbroken community to mourn his loss.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on Nobles Avenue near West Boulevard shortly before 1 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found Jordyn suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, Jordyn was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jordyn was known for his vibrant personality, infectious smile, and deep love for his family and friends. He was a young man with a bright future ahead of him, full of dreams and ambitions. His passing has left his family and friends devastated.
He is survived by his family members who are struggling to come to terms with the loss of their beloved son and brother. “Jordyn was a sweet, caring person who had so much potential. His loss is a heartbreaking tragedy, and we will forever miss him,” said a close family friend.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have asked anyone with information to come forward.
