Chambersburg, PA — It is with deep sorrow that we share the tragic passing of Rakeem Floyd, 20, of Chambersburg, who was fatally shot outside Southgate Mall on December 18, 2024. Rakeem’s life was cut short in a senseless act of violence, leaving his family, friends, and the community in shock and mourning.
Chambersburg police responded to the mall at approximately 6:44 p.m. that evening following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered Rakeem lying on the roadway near the Family Dollar store, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rakeem was a young man known for his friendly and outgoing personality, always ready to help others and bring joy to those around him. He was loved by his family and friends, who will remember him for his kind heart and the positive energy he brought into their lives. Rakeem’s untimely death has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his family members who are devastated by the loss of their son and brother. “Rakeem was a bright, caring young man with a future full of promise. His loss is unimaginable, and we will miss him dearly,” said a family spokesperson.
