It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Colleen Lischwe, a beloved graduate assistant coach for the Bearcats Water Polo team. Colleen, a well-respected and accomplished coach, tragically passed away [date of passing]. Her dedication to the sport of water polo, her athletes, and her community leaves a lasting legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Colleen’s love for water polo began early in her life. She graduated from Kirkwood High School in 2007, where she served as the varsity captain of her co-ed team during her senior season. Her leadership and skill were recognized as she was named Missouri Female Water Polo Player of the Year from 2005-2007 and earned All-Conference and All-State honors in 2007.

Following high school, Colleen continued her passion for the sport at Marist College, where she played NCAA Division I water polo. During her time at Marist, Colleen was named an Academic All-American in 2008. Her dedication helped the Red Foxes reach the NCAA National Championships twice, where they finished eighth in 2008 and seventh in 2009.

Colleen transitioned from player to coach, serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Bearcats Water Polo team. She was admired for her coaching expertise, her deep understanding of the game, and her unwavering commitment to the development of her athletes. Her influence extended not only locally but across the country, earning her the respect of coaches and players alike.

She leaves behind a legacy of excellence, compassion, and mentorship that will continue to inspire the water polo community. Colleen’s loss is felt deeply by her family, friends, players, and colleagues, all of whom were touched by her kindness, dedication, and passion.
