The suspect has been identified as 17-year-old Solomon Henderson. He allegedly livestreamed himself and displayed a firearm moments before opening fire inside the school cafeteria.
The shooting occurred at 11:09 a.m. inside the school’s cafeteria, when a 17-year-old male opened fire on his peers. One of the victims, a female student, was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. A male student also sustained injuries, though his wound was described as a grazing injury.
At the time of this report, Metro Nashville Police had not yet released the identities of the shooter or the victims. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack, and no further details have been made public.
