Justin Rieger, 22, of Taneytown has sadly passed away. Justin died following an apparent suicide. The incident occurred 3775 Fringer Road, Bollinger Park.
At 9:16am, Taneytown Police Officers were dispatched to the scene for an apparent suicide that was discovered by trail goers. Officers arrived at the scene and found the victim unresponsive with obvious gunshot wound.
A firearm was recovered on the scene. Through investigation, it was discovered that a vehicle belonging to the deceased was in the parking lot, which was secured for processing. Investigation is active and ongoing.
At this time, Bollinger Park remains closed. We will notify the community when it reopens. There is no threat to the public.
