It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Lonzo Harris, Jr., age 35, of Chesterfield, who was the victim of a fatal shooting on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the 3300 block of Decatur Street in Richmond.
Lonzo’s life was cut short in a senseless act of violence when officers arrived at the scene at 11:36 p.m. and found him unresponsive inside his home. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he tragically passed away at the scene.
Lonzo was a son, brother, and friend to many who will deeply mourn his loss. Known for his kindness, warmth, and loyalty, Lonzo brought joy to all who knew him. He was cherished for his loving nature, and his sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is survived by his family, friends, and community, who will forever hold his memory close. His legacy of love and camaraderie will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Lonzo’s life will be announced privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local charity in Lonzo’s name, continuing his spirit of giving and kindness.
